Al Ahly face Al Merrikh SC on Saturday afternoon at Al Hilal Stadium in the fifth fixture of the CAF Champions League group stage.
The Red Eagles want to secure the three points and book one of the two qualifying tickets for the competition's quarter-finals before the last group stage game against Simba SC of Tanzania at home.
We are second in the group with a total of seven points after four rounds. Despite a 3-0 win over Al Merrikh SC in the opening game of the group stage, we suffered a frustrating run after a 1-0 loss to Simba SC in Tanzania and a 2-2 draw against AS Vita Club at home.
However, we managed to reverse the situation in the fourth round with a 3-0 victory against AS Vita Club in DR Congo.
On the other hand, the home team hopes to have a strong finish to the group stage as they are at the bottom of the table with only one point.
Al Ahly will miss Ali Maaloul, Mahmoud Wahid and Hamdy Fathy due to injury while our veteran winger Walid Soliman returned to the team after being sidelined for a while because of injury.
